Conventional reliability analyses are normally only concerned with the expected or

average value of the particular measure of reliability. Little consideration has been

given in the past to the variation of that measure about its mean. For example,

when the frequency of failures at a load point is predicted only the average value of

that quantity is typically calculated. The probability that the load point will suffer a

specified number of failures in a year is not normally considered .Similarly, the

expected values of the duration indices are determined but the probabilities of

various durations are not calculated. The mean values are extremely useful and are

the primary indices of load point adequacy. There is, however, an increased

awareness of the need for information related to the variation of the reliability

measures around their means. Probability distributions provide a practical vehicle

to describe the variation of reliability measure about their means. One of the

approaches taken to determine these distributions is to perform probabilistic

simulations of typical radial distribution system. Load point index distributions are

dependent not only on Combinations of component outages but also on system

configurations and restoration activities.

تحلیلهای مرسوم در مورد قابلیت اطمینان در حالت طبیعی بستگی به مقدار متوسط یا مقـدار مـورد انتظـار از انـدازهی

مشخصی از قابلیت اطمینان مورد نظر دارد. در گذشته توجه کمی به تغییر اندازهی مقدار میانگین آن شـده اسـت. بـرای

مثال وقتی فرکانس خرابیها در نقطهی بار تخمین زده میشود، فقط مقدار میانگین مولفهی ذکر شده نوعاً محاسبه می-

شود. احتمال جلوگیری از تعداد مشخصی خطا در طول یک سال توسط نقطه بار عموما در نظر گرفته نمیشود. مشابه بـا

آن، مقدار مورد انتظار در شاخص مدت زمان تعیین میشود ولی احتمال بازههـای مختلـف محاسـبه نمـیشـود. مقـادیر

میانگین به صورت گسترده مفید بوده و نشان دهندهی شاخصهای اولیهی نقطهی بار مناسب هستند.
